Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
 - 1 onion, chopped
 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
 - 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
 - 1 cup beef broth
 - 1 tbsp tomato paste
 - 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
 - 1 tsp dried thyme
 - Salt and pepper, to taste
 - 4 cups mashed potatoes (homemade or store-bought)
 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
 
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
 - In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, then drain any excess fat.
 - Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion becomes soft and translucent.
 - Stir in the frozen peas and carrots, beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the mixture thickens.
 - Transfer the beef mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the top.
 - If desired, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes.
 - Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
 - Let it cool slightly before serving.
