Sizzling Steak Fajitas: A Flavor-Packed Favorite


These sizzling steak fajitas are bursting with bold flavors, tender beef, and colorful bell peppers. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or a festive gathering!

Ingredients

For the Marinade:

  • 1 ½ lbs flank or skirt steak, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Fajitas:

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking)
  • 8 small flour tortillas (warmed)

For Serving (Optional):

  • Sour cream
  • Shredded cheese
  • Guacamole
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Salsa or pico de gallo
  • Lime wedges

Instructions:

1. Marinate the Steak

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lime juice, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the sliced steak to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor).

2. Cook the Vegetables

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced bell peppers and onion, cooking for 5-7 minutes until softened and slightly charred.
  3. Remove from the pan and set aside.

3. Cook the Steak

  1. In the same pan, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil over high heat.
  2. Add the marinated steak in a single layer (work in batches if needed) and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
  3. Return the cooked vegetables to the pan and toss everything together for 1-2 minutes to combine flavors.

4. Warm the Tortillas

  • Heat the tortillas in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds per side or wrap them in foil and warm in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5-10 minutes.

5. Serve & Enjoy!

  1. Spoon the steak and vegetable mixture onto warm tortillas.
  2. Top with your favorite garnishes like sour cream, cheese, guacamole, cilantro, or salsa.
  3. Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side
